Vehicle transport after a collision
If a collision leaves a vehicle unsafe or unable to drive, towing may be needed to clear it from an approved pickup location and transport it to a repair shop, storage location, or another authorized destination.
Emergency services and roadway authorities take priority. Call 911 for injuries, fire, immediate danger, or a blocked hazardous roadway. Follow police instructions about when and how the vehicle may be moved.
Details that affect recovery
- Vehicle position and whether it is in a safe loading area
- Damage to wheels, steering, suspension, or body panels
- Leaking fluids or deployed airbags
- Whether police or another authority is controlling the scene
- Your authorized destination for the vehicle
Insurance and repair decisions
Confirm coverage, reporting requirements, and repair options directly with your insurer. The towing website does not determine fault, insurance coverage, claim approval, or repair authorization.
Already removed from the scene?
